5th International Amateur Theater Festival DRABYNA-2008

Youth theatre festival "Drabyna" is an international youth theater festival for non-professional (amateur) theatres from Ukraine and abroad.
Festival will take place in November, 20 - 23 2008 in L'viv (Ukraine).
Purpose of the festival: Assistance in development of youth non-professional theatres, realization the initiatives of young people, popularization of theatre art among public, turning attention to the problems of young generation.
General festival motto: "Modern generation. Time. Space. Own vision". Special motto of the IV festival "Unity in diversity".
During the festival different actions will be organized for participants and guests (workshops, round-table, presentations, excursions etc.).
During festival also take place different projects: "Fotopjesa" (photo exhibition), film demonstration "Kinoteatr", literary readings "Pozhezhna Drabyna", children theatre festival "Drabynka", "Drama na Drabyni" (plays contest).
For participation in festival jury will jury choose 12 winners of elimination round.
Plays will be evaluated by competent jury.
The winners will be chosen in such nominations: "The best play", "The best actor", and "The best director", "The audience choice".

The contests rules:

The non-professional (amateur) theatres and private persons can participate in contest.

The play has to represent the motto of festival ("Modern generation. Time. Space. Own vision" and special motto of the IV festival "Unity in diversity").
There are no restrictions in texts, languages, genres.
The number of participants is unlimited.
The continuance of plays is not more than 1 hour.
In order to participate in the contests you need: fill in the application form at www.drabyna.lviv.ua, send CD, DVD-disk with play here Mariana Nyshpor вул. Граб'янки, 5/75, м. Львів 79053 Ukraine . Application form deadline is the October, 12 2008.
Plays will be evaluated by competent jury which will be announced after finishing of the elimination round.
The results of the elimination round will be announced on the festival home-page (www.drabyna.lviv.ua) in the end of October 2008.
The jury will appraise: accordance with festival motto, originality of idea, wholeness of play, level of direction, playing, musical and choreographic setting.
Festival committee can restrict participation in festival that theatres which do not done one of the conditions.
